Physical Therapy—2nd Year

You could have chosen anything

You took a flower

A small one so no one would notice

Began your life with a blooming soul

Once graceful and elegant

Now frail and decaying

You still have that flower

But––

You smashed it

Everyone is so quick to throw something that is dying out

But there is still beauty in the dying

You wasted half your life

Trying to find it––

Sitting around the fire with your friends

You start to question everything about your life

Illuminated with flames

Your flower––

Now a shimmer of destruction

The soul

Something that can be set on fire

But don’t look too long

Your eyes will burn

What do you see?

Is it a horse running through a field?

Is it a face smiling back at you?

It burns to death while you sit there and

Breathe–
